Didn't last We have been buying Stride Rite for years and these didn't last. In one month there was tears and holes in the fabric on the side of the shoe, near where the foot bends. My son loved the colors and the style of the shoe and the bonus was they came in extra wide. They just looked old when they were practically new and he didn't feel support when walking. Ended up using then as spares for outside until he outgrew them.

I'm so disappointed - they didn't even last three months As a mother of three kids, I have been buying Stride Rite literally exclusively for my children. However, I am going to research another brand from now on. I purchased these shoes for my oldest son in mid-January. Within the first week, the velcro tab started to separate from the base. Now, only about three months later, there are holes in the toe area. Granted, my son does wear them daily, but I would expect a shoe to last longer than three months. His prior stride rite shoes similarly gave out just as quickly - I often had to buy a replacement in the same size (rather than just buying new shoes when his feet grew). I think it's very clear that the quality has gone down (maybe they changed their manufacturing practices?), and I will admit to being sad about this because I have always been such a fan.

These will be our last pair of Stride Rite shoes I am so disappointed in the downhill decline of Stride Rite shoes. When my son was first born, I wouldn't buy anything else. Then slowly they replaced the quality shoes us parents loved with shoes that fall apart at the seams and hurt my childrens feet. Every pair of shoes we've purchased from this store over the past 2 years have been poor quality. This pair is the final straw. I bought them online in a larger size for my son and put them in his closet so they would be ready for him to wear when he needed them. Today he complained that his shoes felt too tight so I got this pair out to put on his feet tomorrow and when I opened them up, the entire strap along the shoe is frayed and falling apart. These shoes are brand new sent to me about a month ago through their website. We don't live near a stride rite store and making online returns is difficult, not to mention he needs to wear them to school tomorrow, so we have to keep them. Needless to say, I'm furious and really, really disappointed. Come on Stride Rite. All you have to do is make a quality pair of children's shoes. If you can't do that anymore, you shouldn't be in this business.

Falling apart This is my 4th time purchasing this shoe for my kids. I have had no issues with any of the pervious pairs even after being worn for a long period of time. This most recent pair started to fall apart within 2 weeks. The material on the toe is completely ripped and falling apart. The shoe looks like it's been worn for a year instead of 2 weeks. I did not purchase from striderite.com but rather carters.com. Stride rite suggested I sent the shoe in but it's his only pair so I would have to buy a new pair before receiving a replacement. My child is only 2 and these have never been washed. Extremely disappointed. I will be throwing this shoe in the garbage after less than a month of wear and buying a different brand.

SO grateful you all ship to FPO addresses overseas My son's foot is extra wide ... so all the Jordans that dad wants to buy him ... he cannot. Stride Rite has been the best fit for my son's feet. This is the second time buying the shoe. He's been wearing this shoe now for months, and minimal signs of wear. Never a single complaint about them. I'd recommend. Back for round two.
