Cute but not perfect The overall design of the shoe is cute and it is well made. It fits well with different style outfits. The width and overall fit is true to my son's foot. He only wore the shoe 3 times to day care and unfortunately I have to bump the review to a 3 star (3.5 star not available). Reason for my 3 star review: Pros: I love the design. Size is true. Well made in overall quality. Sole is anti slip. Foot conforms to insole. Cons: Unfortunately this shoe has some design flaws in the functionality department that needs to be revisited to assure perfect fit in the heal/ankle section. To be specific: It is difficult to get the shoe on my son's foot and he is not helpful being 14 months old and wanting to be on the go with little/to no patience. The 3 times he wore them, I had to really pull the shoe apart in the "lace" section to allow the foot to slip in far enough so I could get his heel to slip in. Than, I had to pull and push to get his heel down into the shoe. Of course my 14 months old contested that action. Once the foot is in, the heel does not touch the bottom of the shoe (sole). I tested it and was skeptical the 1st 2 times he wore them to daycare. As of yesterday, I noticed that he walks on his tip toes without setting the heel down and rolling the foot from heel to toe like he does in his other shoes. When I push against the sole there is at least half an inch I push up to even feel his heel. It feels as if his heel is "floating" unless he walks, which confirms that his foot is not sitting well in the heel section explaining his funny gait (tippy toe) yesterday. Also, the shoe does not go past his ankle as shown in the picture, since I can't pull it up any further, which connects to the problem of the space pocket under his heel. I checked the size to rule out ill fit in length and width. Also he wears socks with the shoe, and I noticed wet areas on the inside sole outside perimeter. Overall improvements in design: 1) Allow for an easier "entry" into the shoe without compromising loosening the overall fit. 2) Redesign the ankle part to allow the heel to touch the inside sole as it should. I do recommend the shoe as each child's feet are different. The only recommendation I will give before deciding whether to keep the shoe is to test your child's heel and make sure it sits in the shoe right and touches the sole like it should. I had my son fitted but kept in mind that every design/shoe does not fit the same even if standard size. With that in mind, yes the shoe can use improvement but it is cute and seems comfortable in other areas.
