Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointed after 2nd purchase That's the second time I bought these shoes for my 5yr old son who can only have xw shoes. Last year the shoes were perfect, right fit, good quality. This year the shoes broke after 2 mo (he was only having them for school). The leather parted from the soles at the peak of the shoe. We never had that before. It seems like the quality of the shoe did tail off. I'll stay with stride rite but not with this model anymore. October 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Second time to purchase this product My son must wear all black shoes to school. He can tie his shoes, but they always come untied. I found these shoes last year and they were perfect. My son asked for them again this year. Couldn't be happier. August 26, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Big Dissapointment, Style Changed From Last Year Last years model of this shoe was great. They had a nice thick/substantial sole and held up to whatever my very active son did on the playground (soccer, running) through the rainy winter. More often than not he came home with dry feet and last years shoes are still in good condition just too small. So in prep for back to school I decided these rather plain looking shoes are what is needed because they can withstand an active boy in a wet environment. Well I wasn't expecting this years style to have changed but when it arrived it was a big disappointment. The current model has a much thinner sole. I can even feel the difference in weight between the two models with last years being heavier. I really doubt that the thin sole will be substantial enough to hold up to the winter much less being able to pass it down to his sibling. Also the stitching on the leather is busier on this model and more dorky looking in my opinion. These shoes are going back and my search continues. Why did the model have to change from a near perfect shoe into something mediocre? August 7, 2013
