Rated 4 out of 5Â by momof4 These shoes are very durable and one of only a few viable options for velcro uniform shoes in brown. My son wears them every day for school, plus to church and is extremely tough on his shoes. They have stood the test.

I will say that I love the way this shoe looks and it fits well. However I bought this as a uniform shoe and my son wore them the first day of school which was a half day. In the 3 and a half hours he was at school the seams came apart. Not what I expect from Stride Rite or Sperry. I am very disappointed. Stride Rite is working with me however but I would not recommend this shoe!

These shoes seemed like they were going to work out perfect. But unfortunately after wearing to church only 2 times (for a maximum of 2 hours each) they came apart at the top seams. Need to return, unfortunately!

I always buy Sperry for both of my boys. They have to wear shoes with their uniforms and in the past they have held up well. My kids both have wide feet and the Sperry is comfortable & stylish.
I must say I am very disappointed in these. Today was the second day my 8 year old wore them. When he came home the seam on the top was pulling apart!! For $50 I expect better from Stride Rite & Sperry.

My 5-year old needed some "dress" shoes for school. Tough to find for XW feet for a child who is not yet capable of tying shoe laces, so I thought I would give them a try. Bought 1/2 size larger in W. He loves them so much, he would rather wear these instead of his sneakers. Of particular note, he loves the fact that there is only one velcro strap as opposed to 2 on most shoes. The teachers are having to request he wear his sneakers on PE days.
As for cleaning up, they take a lot of abuse on the playground but clean up well with a wet cloth.
