My son got these shoes for Christmas and within two weeks the lights on both shoes stopped working. He and I are both disappointed. We're keeping them, because I don't have the time or the patience to return and exchange for a pair that *might* work. The $10 light up shoes he got at Target four months ago still light up just fine. I'll think long and hard before making my next shoe purchase.

We are on our second pair!!! Thankfully I was able to return the first pair because like what everyone else is saying they stopped working in a week. Well I thought maybe we just got a dud pair and the store didn't have his size in stock so I ordered a pair online. He was so excited for them to come in and guess what same thing happened stopped working within the week. Going to take this pair back as well!!! Guess I will start reading the reviews before purchasing another pair that light up. Waste of time, gas and money :(

My son begged for these shoes. We checked the mall and they were out so I orded them online. The 1st pair I bought, the light was broken/out on one shoe. I was told I could not exchange. I packed up the 1st pair and shipped them off and proceeded to order a new pair. When they came both lights worked. However, within a week one was out again. At this point I have givin up. He wears them with one light out.

My daughter (yes, DAUGHTER) wanted these shoes because she LOVES Star Wars and was so excited about the light-up light sabers. After two wearings (we're talking a girl, here), the lights stopped working on one of the shoes. We returned them, and the lights on the new shoes lasted, at most, a month. Since the light-up feature is what attracts kids to these shoes, I have to say they are definitely a dud. My other daughter got the light-up princess shoes, and we had the same problem. The issue is probably that the lights are in the velcro fastener that gets tugged and pulled on a lot, but surely Stride Rite could have caught this in testing as easily as our family caught it?!

My son LOVED these shoes - they are the first pair he has ever looked in the store window and BEGGED for... that being said, the flashing lights worked for less than a week. He says that they are comfortable, but doesn't want to wear them since they are "broken" - pretty much the BIGGEST waste of $60 for this mommy!

My 6 year old just had to have these cool shoes...and I was reluctant because of the cost, but we got them anyway - he is a big Star Wars fan and they were very cool. The coolest part of the shoe is that the light sabers actually light up, right?? well, only for about a month on one shoe and maybe 2 months on the other.
Apparently his friend from school has the same shoes and had the same problem. Wish I had known that before I dropped almost $60 on them!

Great looking sneaker/ shoe but we had the same issue with the seam on the top of the shoe. The stitching came undone after 1 month of use and now there is a gaping hole on the top part of his foot. It's cold here now so I will need to purchase him a new pair. For the price, these should be much more durable!!! Disappointed!

I purchased these for my 5 year old son in August for school. He loved them, they are very cute. The lights quit working after about two weeks. Disappointing! Now the top seam over his toe has completely come apart and is gaping open. For the price of these shoes I would have hoped they could last more than 3 months. Don't waste your money.

I have spent a small fortune over the past 38 years buying shoes for my children and, now, my grandchildren.
My 5 year old grandson fell in love with these shoes when he saw them in our local Stride Rite store. We bought them and he wore them happily for three weeks before the strap came loose from the body of the shoe. I wanted to exchange them but our store no longer had his size in stock. I went online and ordered the shoes and they arrived promptly within a week. My grandson was ecstatic until, five days later, the Lightsaber on the left shoe failed. I am returning them and trying one more time to get the shoes my grandson loves. However, I have serious doubts about the construction quality of Stride Rite. I don't mind paying more for a well fitting, well built shoe for young, growing feet, but I wonder if the extra money is buying what was once a superior product.

My son loves the shoes but was quite disappointed that the lightsaber on one of the shoes stopped working after the fifth time that he wore the shoes.
