I bought two pairs of these shoes for my twins. They both love the Darth Vader sound and of course the lights too. They have wide feet and Stride Rite is the only place we can find shoes that fit them right. As always, these fit perfect. The kids even wanted to wear them to bed the first night they got them.

by DesignHERmomma Perfect for the dark side...
My (almost) four year old is obsessed with all things Star Wars - especially light sabers/masks/anything that lights up. I don't buy too much "character specific" gear - but these shoes are absolutely perfect for him, and totally mom approved.
At $50ish dollars, they are a bit on the high side of what I typically spend on children's shoes, but in this case I think they're well worth the price.
1. the design is brilliant - the way to velcro is situated, it's perfect for him to get on himself - which is awesome.
2. the light up is super fun for him, and provides an element of safety when walking at night.
3. we didn't even realize that the shoes make sound until after he had worn them a few times - but it makes us both giggle every time he pressed the button.
The shoes are built super tough - and I'm sure we will be getting a ton of wear out of them. He wears them every day!
I received a sample of this shoe to facilitate my review

I am already a Stride Rite fan- My six year old son has been wearing Stride Rites for the last three years- but these Darth Vader shoes take the cake.
My son is going to be Darth Vader for Halloween, so these shoes were a natural addition to the costume. When they arrived, he couldn't wait to put them on and wear them to school- and they were a big hit with the other boys in his class. Not only do they light up when he walks, there's a button he can push to hear the Darth Vader sound we all know and love.
Like his other Stride Rite shoes, these shoes are well-made, sturdy, and comfortable. He's able to run and walk with ease in them. They're also easy for him to take on and off- The Darth Vader 'face' attaches with velcro on both sides of his feet, so he's able to lift it up and put it back down to take the shoes on and off.
Get them for the costume and your child will be wearing these shoes all year
