I have to agree with a previous reviewer. My son just received these for Christmas and the sole is already showing wear and tear. He just turned one and is still learning to walk so I wouldn't say he's hard on shoes. Plus, he's worn them almost exclusively inside our home. I believe my mother (his grandmother) spent full price so I'm very disappointed. I like the way the shoe looks (she bought the navy/light blue version) and they definitely give him confidence as he learns to steady himself. But for them to start to go bad in a matter of weeks is unacceptable for a shoe at this price. I don't recommend purchasing them unless they're on sale.

My son had worn soft leather shoes since he started standing and I was concerned about the transition to a soled shoe once he started walking. This shoes was perfect and he did not seem bothered by them or have any trouble walking at all. In fact, these shoes seemed to keep him balanced as he toddled around.

The shoe is cute!. However, I am not totally satisfied with my purchase. My son has several pair of Stride Rite shoes because they are usually of good quality and well made. these particular shoes on the other hand lack the usual quality that SR shoes posess. My son who turns one today has had these shoes for less than a month. He just started walking well a week or two ago. He does not wear these shoes every day and already the blue and white is peeling from the shoe which doesnt look nice at all and, the thread at the toe is also starting to unravel. the little wear he puts on the shoes and the amount of time he has had them is ridiculous. So again the shoe is cute just poorly made which is surprising coming from SR. really dissapointed with this purchase :(
